In November, the project’s final event took place at Neukölln Town Hall, where the district mayor, Martin Hikel, handed the speakers their certificates. As a token of appreciation, they were given a small gift in addition to the certificate. At this closing event, we reflected on the past year with the speakers and reviewed the milestones achieved: successful communication with the district office regarding issues in the accommodations, the establishment of a new, stable structure on-site, and the acquired knowledge of local services and organizations in Neukölln.

It was also particularly noteworthy that the project provided valuable insights into the political structures of the district and numerous networking opportunities for the speakers outside of the accommodations.

Last but not least, the project also gave participants the opportunity to deepen their German language skills and, above all, to apply them successfully in practice.
